Since May, I have been reading lots of novels. Mainly because of my frequent escaping to library which is just a few steps away from my house, for some peace of mind.
I always thought, to pick one from over thousand books needs some kind of fate. What makes you pick that out from the rest? Usually I just go with my heart but somehow, the side of the book must be unique enough to attract my eyes. And of course, the title of the book.
I came across "Johnny be Good" written by Paige Toon sometime ago, and I totally love it. And since then, I have followed closely on the rest of Paige Toon's works. Her latest novel "Pictures of Lily" had been released in July, and I was comtemplating whether to buy it online, as I'm sure it will not reach our library so soon.
Last weekend, I was hanging around in Popular book store in Junction 8, and i saw it! "Pictures of Lily" lying between some other fiction, and i was near to jumping with joy. Holding on to my new purchase, i was more than just glad for the unexpected finding.
ok.. it is just a book. But to me, it was a simple joy that brightened my day. Just like you had been craving for chocolate fondue and you finally have it.
Simple joy is what we all need once in a while. And I certainly need it in times like now.
