Chapter 165: Ipanema Gisele Bundchen Tahiti Wedge

If there is anything more unpredictable than women, it's got to be Singapore's weather. So, it is really no wonder why most locals hop around the island in pairs of casual flip-flops. Perhaps it is not exactly matching, but when the rain comes without warning and drenches every part of us knee down (or even waist down), I for one, am totally appreciative.

For the sake of such appreciative moments, I wear sandals or flip-flops everywhere, previously even to work. With such high exposure, the chosen pair no doubt has to be a pretty one.

Having my Skechers soon to be retiring, I read about Ipanema flip-flop somewhere in Cleo magazine, and immediately wait not much longer to check them out myself. And here it is,  an earthly brown wedge flip-flop with a cute bow from Ipanema, a Gisele Bundchen series.

Yes, you are right, the bow attracts me, and so is the bit of height that is ultra important to me. The sole is suprisingly soft and fits onto your foot while you walk, hence no 'piak-piak' sound from it hitting the back of your heel.

I guess I won't be irritated by the rain again for the time-being. :P

Chapter 155: my pair of Linda

 

There must be a reason why I love shops like Ribbons and Chocolate Schubar. Both retail outlets combine my two greatest loves, shopping and food, by displaying their items in a foodie manner. Be it lining up rolled-up T-shirts in a transparent display shelf that resembles a refrigerator or having a confectionary bar concept for numerous pairs of 'delicious' shoes, both have caught much of my attention.

I love bags of course, but in fact I love shoes too. Yet shoes are not an easy desire to conquer. It holds much higher knowledge in it, as it must be able to deliver comfort besides just good looks. And given my pitiful height, I need a pair with at least an inch to boost me up. Hence, buying shoes is usually a tedious chore for me.

Until I saw this at Chocolate Schubar, a pair of Raspberry sandal that seemed to sparkle with lustre.  With just a bit of wedge below, its design reminds me of Wonder Woman.

I guess I would love to be Wonder Woman sometimes.

Chapter 136: Legere ~ Water Drop Shiny Pearl BB cream

BB cream, a new addition to the beauty world back sometimes ago. BB, which means Blemish Balm, is said to have orginated from Germany, with the initial intention as treatment for patients who have been through laser skin surgery.

A little tube that seems to contain a couple of benefits such as covering imperfection, sun protection and as a makeup base itself.

As the craze for it seems to have slowed down, I thought now is a good time to try it.

Legere is one of the brands that is highly recommended by Taiwan's famous beauty consultant Kevin 老师. After fussing over the few testers, I decided to try out Legere's Water Drop Shiny Pearl BB cream, dressed in an attractive fuschia pink.

Priced at S$37.90, it was a rather expensive buy for me. But being drawn to it's multi-benefits, I secretly wished that it was a worthy investment.

Stated to be oil-free and water-based, the texture was indeed watery and easy to blend in. The colour appears to be of a darker tone but it will eventually match to our skin tone after blending in. The shiny pearl infused in the cream added a natural glow to the skin.

It was indeed a worthy buy though the only thing lacking is the low sun protection of only SPF26. But at least it seems to work great with the Shills sun block (mentioned in Chapter 127). :)

 

由台湾著名彩妆达人Kevin老师强力推荐的Legere BB 霜。花了好一阵子，终于决定试一试这款 Water Drop Shiny Pearl BB 霜。质感如水一般稀薄，涂抹在脸上相当容易。色泽比较深，在均匀涂抹后会转为和肌肤一样的色泽。BB 霜还含有微微的亮粉，增添脸上的自然光泽。唯一不足之处应该就是隔离指数稍嫌太低，只有SPF26。但至少，与之前所提的Shills 隔离霜一起使用，工效似乎还不错。

Chapter 133: Shape me up!

BACK in Mid-Jan, I was so fascinated with Skechers Shape-ups that I even dreamt of running in them. The signature design of the thick, curvy sole simulates the feeling of walking in the sand. Other than that, it has a pretty long list of benefits to our bodies. Moreover, its design also seems more fashionable than most other sports shoes.

As I had been suffering from aching feet after jogging in my normal walking shoes (that doesn't design for running), I thought it was about time to invest in a good pair of running shoes.

Despite the decision was way opposite my plan of "Control, control and save", Hubby and I believed that this was a worthy investment. So we did the once-in-a-blue-moon splurge and we each bought a pair.

A pair of SRT for my regular jogging session, and a pair of basic Shape-ups for hubby to wear daily for his work.

With my feet nicely tucked in the SRT, it was slightly unstable for me in the beginning as I uncontrollably rock to and fro while standing. But once I started speeding up my pace, each step felt like a little bounce. And soon, walking in it seems to be my favourite activity.

While hubby has been more diligent in wearing his Shape-ups every day, his tummy didn't seem to have shape up at all. Nevertheless, he said he was happy to have a few cm added to his height with the thick sole. And, the comfy level was definitely much higher than all his previous shoes.

Though the shoes didn't seem to have much effect on shaping Hubby up, I'm sure this is one isolated case. At least, we are both very happy with our new "sole-mates".

第一百二十七章：完美防晒+遮瑕

在我们这一小片热带的岛国上，四季为夏。勤劳的太阳从来都不用休息，一天晒足12小时。这样的气候让我不得不寻找最有效的隔离霜。

寻寻觅觅，这次我在John Litte买了从台湾发行的Shills Moisturizing Sun Block。

SPF50, 具有保湿作用。我一向深信本岛的阳光强度，至少需要SPF50才抵抗的住。而Shills 就符合了这首要条件。

隔离霜一般为白色，搽在脸上有时会有难以涂均匀的问题。Shills隔离霜是带有肉色的乳液。要均匀涂在脸上，相当容易。

SPF越高，隔离霜通常也越粘稠。Shills虽然没有我希望中像水一样容易被涂抹吸收，但也不算太粘稠。标记上写着''non greasy''，但涂抹在脸上后，仍然会有一点粘粘地感觉。不过，这方面我还能接受，毕竟是 SPF50的隔离霜，相信也不可能做到像水一般的稀薄。

然而，最令我感到惊喜的是，涂抹在脸上后，原本只想达到防晒效果，却意外发现Shills似乎也有遮瑕的作用！

含有些许遮瑕作用的隔离霜，对我来说是个bonus。看来短期内，找寻完美隔离霜的任务算是告一段落。:)

 

My latest addition to my beauty must-have, Shills Moisturizing Sun Block that was originated from Taiwan. Instead of the usual white texture, the lotion is a tinted nude colour that blend in easily with your skin colour, saving me the hassle of trying to even out the white tone that just doesn't blend easily.

Although "non greasy" was stated, I was not surprised that I still feel a little bit of stickiness after applying. After all, I don't think it is easy to have a sun block with SPF as high as 50 to have a total non-greasy texture. Hence, I have no complaint with that at all. 

The real surprise hit me when I realised that it seems to have some concealing effects. Perhaps the skin colour tone texture has managed to double-up as a concealer, a perfect bonus for me.

I believe Shills Sun Block will become the top on my beauty list for quite some time from now.

Chapter 120: my first Rootote

I got my first Rootote!

Since I left my previous job, I hadn't bought any bag, much to hubby's surprise. About one month ago, I passed by Fie Japan in Ion, and this lovely bag caught my eyes. Since then, every time I walked by that shop, I would peek at it and wondered when will it be sold off.

Yesterday, I finally got it! My first water-proof Rootote bag that has some playful kittens for its design. Hubby said I'm lame and I agreed too.

Anyway, bags always make me happy!
